Stroke/ Paralysis

Every year, 1.8 million people suffer stroke in India, but we have only about 2000 neurologists. The phrase “time is brain” is implied in stroke and  emphasizes that human nervous tissue is rapidly lost as stroke progresses and emergent evaluation and therapy are required.

Epilepsy

Seizures can occur at any age. It is curable as well as treatable. Seizures are caused by abnormal electrical activity in the brain. Seizures can make you have convulsions, pass out, or move or behave strangely. Most seizures last only a few seconds or minutes.

Headache

Headache is the second most important symptom bringing patient to doctor. Though it is completely subjective but very disabling at times. Headaches can have causes that aren’t due to underlying disease.

Tremor

Called as “ kampa” in medieval literature it  is shaking of limbs or other body part. A person with tremor has a body part that shakes, and the person cannot control the shaking. The tremor can be a problem on its own, or it can be caused by another health problem.

Dementia

Dementia is a disease of old age and it is equally disabling to family members as to patient himself. Dementia is the general term for a group of brain disorders that cause memory problems and make it hard to think clearly. The symptoms of dementia often start off very mild and get worse slowly.
